July 4th, 2008

In one word, the plain ride was long. Not in the sense that time seemed to drag by, but in the sense that the ride took a "long" time to get used to. The entertainment system was down, and the 5 or 6 year old girl who sat behind me (Her name was Danny) constantly kicked the back of my seat. She also constantly whined about not being able to see a new "Dora the Explorer," so her mother read aloud to her. I swear that I wanted nothing more than to kick them off the plane. Eventually I fell asleep, and woke up only when the plane was flying over Ireland. I looked out the window for the remainder of the flight.

London is a huge city. It is so massive-I have never even imagined anything that rivaled its size. I believe that England manages to keep its charm with its deep and rich history.

After going through customs, waiting for my baggage to arrive, and heading to the bus that would take me to the dreaded "Terminal 3" I was sweating like a pig. I was in line to board the bus when I saw the man. He looked as if he was in his early to mid-50's, very much the english stereo-type. He looked just like Morse. His name was David and he was holding the blue and white "Oxford Prep" sign. I went with him and we traveled to the bus depot. I was the last arriving student.

I made a lot of friends on the bus. I couldn't stop laughing the entire way to Oxford-a whole 2 hour ride. Upon arriving, I proceded to lug my baggage up three flights of staircases and got settled into my room. (As it turns out, I don't have to share with anybody) I have a beautiful view of Oriel's Third Quad, and the weather has been very nice so far. I only share the loo with one other girl, and she is nice enough.

I read Tarot cards for myself to see how tomorrow, my first real day of classes would go. Here are the cards and their meanings.

-Working for me- Pentacles 6: Envy, jealousy.
-Working against me- Pentacles 10: Generosity in excessive amounts
-Final Summary-Swords 6: Necessary choice, uncertain success, a travel into the unknown.

I must leave you now, it's nearing 10:30!

I'll write tomorrow!
-LoLo

P.S. Happy birthday Daddy!
